COACHING CLINIC ITEMS:

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us as the two coaching clinics in November, and a huge thank you to Jack, Meghan, and Danielle for leading us through the various sessions! The clinic evaluations are available here: Clinic 1 (floor and vault), Clinic 2 (beam and bars). Our next steps are to get video of drills and routines compiled and shared. Reminder that all the videos from last year’s clinics are still available via the links indicated below (note that these align with last year’s regulations). Lastly, we are looking at an opportunity for coaches to bring athletes to a session where they could rotate through apparatus and receive feedback/training advice. Stay tuned…
SMALL CHANGES TO OUR REGULATIONS:
From the coaching clinics last month, there are two small changes to our regulations, as follows:
Level 1, FLOOR: A backhandspring is now a restricted move in level 1.
Level 6, VAULT: A Tsukahara timer to feet now has a start value of 9.5. A Tsukahara timer to back now has a start value of 9.8.
Also, the qualifier dates were confirmed as follows:
— Monday, March 4 will be the qualifier for levels 1, 2, and maybe 3
— Tuesday, March 5 will be the qualifier for levels 4, 5, 6, and maybe 3
Like last year, where level 3 goes will depend on numbers, making it extra important to register your teams (see below).
UPCOMING DEADLINES:

1) Deadline for teacher representatives to register their team is Friday, December 22Click here to make a copy of the registration form. Either fill out the form as a Google Doc and share it back with me, or print a copy, fill it out, scan it, and email it back to me.

2) Deadline for teacher representatives to file a petition for level change is Monday, December 25. This must include a letter to the petition committee with the athlete’s name, the level they are currently in, and rationale for wanting to move them to a different level. Submit to me by email. Cost is $25 per petition (will be charged back to the school at the end of the season).

TEAM LEOTARDS:
If you have yet to purchase leotards for this year, please contact Alex (alarocque@gymzone.org) ASAP for pricing and ordering information.
