Nordic Ski Season Officially Cancelled

Curling Season Cancelled

With the news that the Idylwylde Curling Club would be closing effective today (March 8th), the SDSSAA curling season has been cancelled.  There likely wouldn’t have been sufficient time to complete the season anyway were current restrictions to be lifted on March 22nd, nonetheless this closure seals the deal.

SDSSAA Games/Competitions Postponed

All SDSSAA girls volleyball and nordic ski scheduled games have been postponed until further notice, following notification received from member boards/schools that training/competition will be placed on pause effective immediately (Mon, Mar 1st).  Programs will be reassessed once a return date is known.

SDSSAA Alpine/Snowboard Cancelled

Citing a lack of training opportunities available to students following the stay-at-home order issued by the provincial government on Jan 12th, organizers have cancelled the SDSSAA alpine ski and snowboard season this school year.  With a beginner focus and the need to properly train students before racing in competition, consensus was that races could not be hosted to a safe standard under present conditions.
